Chianti Aretino

The zone of Chianti aretino corresponds to the zone of Valdarno Superiore, characterized from an incredible variety of landscapes: rowes with dry walls, villages and castles, contraposed to lunar landscape of holes and excavations, left in inheritance from the mining activity. Among the main localities we can find: San Giovanni Valdarno, Cortona, Bucine, Lucignano, Cavriglia and obviously Arezzo.

Arezzo: medioeval city, encircled by hills vineyards and olive groves, it rises at the cener of the of four valleys rich of history, culture beyond agricultural products and food-high-quality. To the apex of the city is the Cathedral, the Communal Palace and the Medicea Fortress, from which emerge the main roads. The part more elevated of the city conserve a detached medieval aspect in which however exellent posterior architectonic examples stand out. The part of the city which is towards the plain has a modern and lively aspect.

Bucine: constituted in great part by hills, with a continuity of the mantle vegetable, it is introduced with small villages in the heights of the territory, rich also of pievi and secular abbeys, churches and castles connected by ancient roads.

San Giovanni Valdarno: situated to half road between Florence and Arezzo, it is one of the main center of the valley crossed by Arno river and encircled by splendid hills of Chianti and from the mountain ridge of the Pratomagno.

Cavriglia: recently it has been developed in tourist-environmental sense especially in its hill part, that one that confines with the zone of the Chianti classic that for this has been defined "the door of the Chianti". Numerous are the vineyards companies with limited production and some also with relief production on the quantitative and above all qualitative plan. Some of them carry out also the agritouristic complementary activity with remarkable success.
