Maremma

Maremma zone is big and it spreads out in a great part of Tuscany, because of that it has been divided in geographical areas: area of Colline Metallifere which includes Follonica, Gavorrano, Massa Marittima, Montieri, Monterotondo Marittimo and Scarlino; Zona Collinare Interna (hill internal zone) with Campagnatico, Cinigiano, Scansano and Civitella Paganico; zone of Grosseto and Castiglione della Pescaia; tufo area including Manciano, Pitigliano and Sorano and finally Costa d'Argento with Capalbio, Isola del Giglio, Magliano in Toscana, Monte Argentario and Orbetello.

In Grosseto province are numerous places of archeological, monumental and artistic interest that makes Maremma one of the most important area of Italy. The etruscan necropolis and the roman colonies are some of the favourite attractives in Maremma, such as Vetulonia, Roselle, Cosa or Sovana; and there isn't a borough or a village that doesn't offer to the visitor fascinating ancient chatedrals, fortresses, monasteries and abbeys.

In a land of hunters, the best receipes are made with games: wild boars, hares and pheasants; but we can find also fish, soupes and bruschetta. You can taste them with a good glass wine from Maremma. There are a lot of wine road such as Colli di Maremma one of the best red wine from Tuscany such as Morellino di Scansano; that of Monteregio-Massa Marittima and the last one, that of Montecucco with the original tastings of a wine born to the feet of the mountain.

Furthermore you can enjoy Maremma, exploring the nature by horse, surfing in clear waters, discovering wonderful landscapes; these activities permit you to knoe Maremma and to get the variety of the area. Everything is possible to the well-qualified turistic structures.
